Hey, I’m Maciek!

By day I work in the Search/Observability/SRE-ish space at Elastic and I’m the kind of person who enjoys digging into "why the hell is this system doing that?" until it finally makes sense. I spend a lot of time around Kubernetes, Go, Linux, reliability/ops tooling, and generally building/automating things so they’re easier to run (and harder to break).

I’m also a seasoned conference speaker—I like sharing war stories, practical lessons, and the "what actually worked in production" side of engineering. More broadly, I’m pretty big on supporting the community: open discussions, open source, and the whole ecosystem that makes our jobs more fun (and less lonely).

After hours, I’m happily a hobbyist in two directions that keep me sane:

  • Photography—landscapes, travel, architecture, whatever looks epic at sunrise. Portfolio: maciej.lasyk.info/photography and Instagram
  • Long-distance training—running, swimming, cycling and general endurance stuff, usually with some ambitious goal on the horizon. Blog: dlugodystansowy.pl, strava.com/athletes/441936
  • Open source since forever—I build in public when I can, and I like learning by shipping. GitHub

You’ll find a mix of technical notes, project writeups, and "here’s what I learned the hard way" posts around here—plus some side quests from the camera + endurance life.
