Long-story-short - my RSS feed was bloated with some branches (feeds) that were way too noisy. But I've been keeping those for years, maybe because of the FOMO (fear of missing out) syndrome.
This bloat had an important impact on me reading the feed regularly - I was reluctant on doing this, as there were always waaay to much entries to go through. Like drinking from a fire-hose.
So recently, I finally decided to solve those problems, which I defined as:
- too much crap in my feed
- I haven't really added fresh feeds recently - for months I think
Solution for the first one is simple - just unsubscribe. It's really that simple. I had some Golang/Python ones from times I was learning basics, and never silenced those - and they grew last years (dev.to communities, reddit ones etc). Also - the HackerNews just got way too clunky for me and felt sometimes like a LinkedIn feed - so out! You get the idea.
Now, for the second part - it's not easy (was not) to find new, interesting blogs these days. Google search is shitty, mainly focused on "answering questions" via LLM models. Browsing the internet in 2026 is very different than it was 10 years ago, and similarly, finding out new and interesting blogs!
So it took me some time to think, how to search for those blogs, not spending on this huge amount of time. Solution? LLM! And some personal experience. Most of my RSS feeds are tech-related, that I subscribed for after... specific conferences. I see a folk on the stage, I listen to that person and then I know hers/his mindset. If there's a match - search for blog and subscribe immediately. But this requires traveling to conferences, which I do not do that often these days.
How does it now maps to the "LLM solution"? Well.. 😄
Hey, analyze names of people that spoke recently at Linuxcon, Kubecon and other tech-related conferences (best - smaller, less known ones). For each of those people, find out if they run a personal blog. For each blog provide me with the url of its RSS feed.
Obviously this input should be adjusted and improved, but hey - that's just an idea! Go try yourself. And if you have another idea/view, please share below, thanks!
PS: the image in the header is a new idea that I'll be doing on this blog. Some entries are really hard to find a related picture/graphic. Instead, I'll be just sharing some photos that I took recently and describe it on the ALT text beside/hover the image. I don't think this will negatively impact those entries, on the contrary.
